Surgery for Harvey

Harvey is a 5 year old miniature dachshund and he is one of the sweetest boys you’ll ever meet. About one year ago, Harvey was found on the side of a street, abandoned and heart worm positive. My family decided to adopt Harvey after meeting him because he is an angel and fit right in with our family and two other dogs.
We recently discovered Harvey developed a slipped disk due to IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) and he has lost most control and feeling in his back as well as his ability to walk with his back legs, he is partially paralyzed. Our options are to do nothing and crate rest him for however long, which would most likely lead to permanent paralysis and possibly having to put him down. Or we can proceed with the surgery. The vet informed us that he will have a 99% chance of excellent recovery if surgery is done.
We have decided to give him a chance of a long and healthy life with us and chose the surgery route because at the end of the day, he is a part of the family and we want him to live a happy life along with his two brothers.
We are paying for a good portion of the surgery cost up front. But, we are desperately trying to find ways to come up with the rest within our budget, which is why we decided to create a GoFundMe account. We do not expect a lot, but we thought we might as well try and raise some money because even a small amount would help us tremendously.
