Strides Walk for Diabetes Awareness

Donation protected

In Alabama, approximately 634,000 people, or 15.4% of the adult population have diabetes. Of these, an estimated 127,000 have diabetes but don't know it. The Pike Road Lions Club is addressing this issue in our area by creating awareness of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The Pike Road Lions Club is hosting our first annual Strides Walk for Diabetes Awareness on November 10, 2018 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Cottonwood Golf Course at 7160 Byron Nelson Blvd. , Montgomery, Alabama. Participants will walk 9 holes beginning at 9:00am. We aim to educate our community about the signs and symptoms, provide free blood sugar screenings along with other health checks, and connect a network of individuals and families affected by diabetes. We invite you to join us by becoming an inaugural sponsor for this very special event. Proceeds will provide scholarships for children to attend Camp Seale Harris, a diabetes centered camp for kids. Thank you for your support.
