River & Seymour: Orphaned Bear Cubs

Donation protected
We are Chloe (13), Amelia (12), & Oceanne (8). We live in the neighbourhood of Blueridge in North Vancouver. We live near Seymour Mountain and as a result, share the surrounding area with many black bears.

Did you know that 18 bears were put down on the North Shore last year and 602 bears were killed across BC?

We need to make sure that we don’t invite wildlife into residential areas! That means not taking photos of bears, leaving garbage out before garbage day or any activity which causes the bears to lose their natural wariness of humans. It was human error that caused these bear cubs to lose their mother. A fed bear is a dead bear! These bear cubs apparently sobbed for weeks after seeing their mother shot & killed after eating residents garbage.

The cubs are currently being cared for at Critter Care Wildlife Society. It costs them $75 to feed each bear cub per day and $170 to feed both bears per day. The Society desperately needs our help. We are trying to fundraise to support the cubs now until hibernation and their release back into the wild next year. These cubs deserve our help considering it was human fault that put them in their current situation.
