Hi,
My name is Nicole McIntosh and I want to start a campaign to raise money for my incredibly strong sister, Jessica Melo and her family- David, her husband, Landon( age 1), and Olivia (age 1 week).
My sister has been going through a lot these days as many of you are aware from her blog- Melo through the Madness.
For any of you who don't know my sister do not know how strong and positive she has been these past couple of months.
It was discovered recently that my sister has macroadenoma which in normal terms means she has a growth (adenoma) growing on her pituitary gland which is causing her vision loss. This was all discovered while she was 37 weeks pregnant with her second child (kind of a lot to take in at 37 weeks!). Once she delivered her sweet Olivia on November 15th via C-section she was set up to to meet with her neurologist to discuss options. She met with a neurologist who has advised her that she would need surgery to remove this adenoma with the hopes of regaining her vision. They also stated this needed to be done as soon as possible.
My sister is currently scheduled to have surgery to remove this adenoma on December 21st. Her neurologist advised it would be a 3-5 day hospital stay meaning she may not be at home with her two babies and her incredibly supportive husband on Christmas.
With that being said I know that both Jess and Dave are extremely strong people and will get through this. I am sure there are many medical bills that will result from not only her C-section surgery but also her brain surgery to remove the adenoma found on her pituitary gland. Jess will also be out of work for a while recovering from her surgery. Dave will also be taking some time off to take care of Landon and Olivia. Since this is happening right around Christmas I do not want my sister and her family to have to worry about their babies having a wonderful Christmas due to medical bill expenses. I am hoping we can raise enough money so they do not have to worry about money for the holidays and help to cover the large medical expenses headed there way.
