Muffi Lavigne Plum’s Labyrinth Fund

Donation protected
The world lost a bright light of love and hope on 2/29/16 when Margaret “Muffi” Lavigne Plum passed away unexpectedly. Despite her personal circumstances, which included living with muscular dystrophy and surviving breast cancer, she always maintained her optimism, hope, and desire to change the world in a positive way. She was a special person who, by her very nature, would always boost up the people around her to be their very best. In her short life, she was recognized for her many accomplishments – including her academic achievements, as a youth - then adult - leader in vocation, her passions and hobbies, her work in her community, and her service to others. She has been involved in working with such organizations as the American Legion Auxilliary Girl’s State, Connecticut Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Corporation (CT HOBY), Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, NEADS, National Office of the United Cerebral Palsy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Hospital for Special Care – where she lived prior to her death.

In the years prior to her death, Muffi’s love of art, nature, and spirituality combined with her interest in architecture and equal accessibility, leading her to begin designing an accessible labyrinth. It is the goal of Muffi’s family and close friends to create an accessible labyrinth as a legacy to leave behind for others – for as long as the labyrinth stands, her spirit will live on in a physical form. Muffi’s intention for the space has begun the process, and it is up to us to fulfill Muffi’s dream.

The cost of building a labyrinth depends on many factors, such as the materials used for the labyrinth, the landscaping costs, labor, etc. While the exact location and design are not yet known, this fund will start to manifest her intention into a reality. With your support, we can take care of the rest. Our donors will be the first to receive updates on the process as we move forward.

If, by chance, this campaign is so successful as to exceeds the cost of creating and maintaining this labyrinth, the family will use the remaining money to create another legacy in Muffi’s memory – possibly in the form of a scholarship or supporting one of the many organizations in which she was involved.
