Holly Masek  HOLLIS, NH

Rob and Libby Masek lost their home when the Hollis, N.H., house they partially rented was destroyed by fire early Wednesday, January 8. While they (and their landlord's one-eyed cat) made it out safely at about 3 a.m., most of their possessions are irrecoverable due to fire, smoke, or water damage. They are staying with family until they decide their next steps.

For those of you who don't know, Libby and Rob eloped in October and this was their first home together. They never bothered with a wedding registry, and were pretty content with family hand-me-downs and the items they'd acquired independently over the years. Now more or less everything is gone.

So, if you ever thought about getting them a wedding gift, now would really be a lovely and very meaningful time to do so.

Please consider giving any amount to help them out as they start over. If you aren't able to give, I'm sure they would really just love a message of support from you.

Thank you for your help!

-Holly (Rob's sister)

Continued thanks to all of you wonderful people! This is truly, truly amazing. Rob and Libby are overwhelmed. Rob told me he "may have cut an onion". I think that means he cried. Don't tell him I said that.

Holly.......this is. Truly amazing!
Rob and Libby are so deserving of this.
The fire was horrific but the warmth and generosity of great friends helps the healing.
You all have made a difference in all our lives. Thank you!

I never expected this to reach so far, so for those of you who don't know Rob and Libby, they are wonderful people who are always helping others. Libby is a social worker at a nursing home, and Rob is the Operations Manager at Artisan's Asylum in Somerville, MA. They are constantly changing flat tires for strangers on the side of the highway, volunteering to teach kids about robotics, taking care of nieces, moving siblings to new apartments (guilty), and just being all around good people. I'm being a little mushy because they deserve it.

Just found you on Facebook after not having seen Rob in what, 13 years? I still can't watch Olympic Curling without thinking about him
