Team Melissa - No One Fights Alone

In June 2018, Melissa was diagnosed with stage 4 appendix cancer (colonic-type adenocarcinoma) which is a rare disease with less than 1,000 people diagnosed each year in the U.S.  In the blink of an eye, Melissa's life has completely changed, and she has undergone and will continue to receive bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments which will hopefully allow her to have surgery for the removal of tumors in the future.  Her goal besides recovery has been to try to keep life as normal as possible for her teenaged son who just finished freshman year of high school.

Even though her diagnosis is recent, the expenses due to her high deductible insurance plan have already started to accumulate and being a single mother, these are not expenses that she can absorb without help. 

Melissa is a daughter, sister, mother and friend to many people and is always the first to help anyone who needs assistance.  She does not want to be the center of attention, but her family and friends are now asking you to assist her by showing her that she is not in this fight alone and that we support her on her road to recovery.

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.

All funds raised will go directly to the Friends of Melissa Monahan Trust Account in which I, Barbara Juryniec, as Trustee will hold in said account until after a benefit in Melissa Monahan's honor is held on September 7, 2018, then said account and all funds raised  will be turned over to Melissa Monahan, as beneficiary and will be used to cover her medical expenses for her cancer treatments.
