Team Lucy

Lucy Grace Sembach is the daughter of Casey and Melanie Sembach of Jacksonville, Florida. She is almost 2 years old. Just over a week ago her parents received devastating news after an MRI that Lucy has a brain tumor. This past Monday she had brain surgery at Wolfson's Children's Hospital to remove the brain tumor. Her parents are now waiting for the biopsy results and getting ready to move Lucy into a inpatient rehabilitation facility for intense physical and occupational therapy to address the post surgery effects. While the doctor was able to remove almost all of the brain tumor, they are also waiting to learn the doctor's advice as to whether she will need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. Casey and Melanie both are employed full time and taking time off work to care for their precious daughter and two other children, Ben (8) and Kate (5). They have good health insurance but like many of us, it is a high deductible plan and the new deductible starts over in January. With two other children, the holidays upon us and being off work, the last thing this sweet, hardworking family needs is financial burden. Let's ease that financial burden that is coming by lifting this family up in prayer and in donations so that finances is their last concern. They need to be focused on what is important : Lucy, Ben and Kate and their family. They are amazing parents and honestly were initially reluctant to let me establish this fund because they are so independent and hard working. However, this is simply more than someone should have to bear. Not with a 2 year old. Not at the holidays. Please look into your heart and consider donating to this fine family.
