Edward (Ted) Cosgriff, extraordinary father, husband, teacher, coach, friend and colleague, passed away on September 6, 2018, after a tough battle with brain cancer. He leaves behind his wife and three grown children.
Ted was truly a gentleman who loved teaching and coaching. Ted touched the lives of thousands of kids in the classroom, as a basketball and football coach, and as a Special Olympics volunteer.
Ted taught for years in Fremont and finished his career at Davidson Middle School in San Rafael. He also coached football for many seasons at Tamalpais High and Terra Linda High.The last few years he was the head football coach at San Rafael High School.
Ted was adamant that all his student athletes put their academics first and spent the first few years of retirement supporting all San Rafael High student/athletes as an academic advisor. In discussions with his family, we are raising funds to memorialize Ted with a 12”x12” brick to be placed at the newly renovated Miller Field at San Rafael High:https://www.bulldogbricks.org and morning and the remaining money will go to The Special Olympics of Marin.
