6 Countries in 10 months

Hey guys!
On July 12, 2018 I will be leaving for 10 months to volunteer in 6 different Countries!
Last March I went to Kenya for 2 weeks with Tumaini Volunteers and needless to say, I didn’t want to leave! Those two weeks were the happiest of my life; not only was I able to help and touch people’s lives, but mine was changed forever.
All through high school and my years at UWMC, I had a set path. I was going to move to a city and peruse my love for the arts and theatre. Again, my trip to Kenya changed everything. My new love and passion was volunteering, and helping a greater cause.
I am over the moon excited to start this next chapter in my life. I will be volunteering with the organization IVHQ. My first stop is Quito, Ecuador. I will be working on the Street Children Work program.
For many Ecuadorian children, school is not an option. Often times, children spend the year working in the streets, and markets, selling goods with their parents to help their families stay alive. The project I will be working on focuses on providing these children with some enjoyment in their lives, along with education. I will be assisting with providing basic school lessons, playing, singing and dancing with the kids, providing hygiene awareness (the importance of washing hands), and introducing the kids to new activities and games. I decided to work on this placement because while in Kenya, being/playing with the children was what gave me the most joy.
I will be volunteering in Ecuador for 1 month. After Ecuador, my next destinations will be: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (3 months), Kenya, Africa (3.5 months), Kerala, India (1 month), Cambodia (2 months), and Greece (2 weeks). Each country I visit I will be doing different volunteer work!
The reason why I am starting this go fund me campaign is because every cent helps! I have been working at Basil Restaurant as a server and cook. I work almost every day, all day and I’ve been saving like crazy to help make my dream become a reality.
