Marilyn's England Trip

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ryan Comins. I am writing this on behalf of my friend Marilyn Francis. Both of us are members of Positively Autistic, an international autism awareness charity. While Marilyn and I have never met in person, we have collaborated with charity members over in England to host a podcast called Positively Autistic: The Poet's Interest: By Marilyn and Ryan. Last September, members of Positively Autistic asked Marilyn and myself if we would want to come over to London England this April to finally meet charity members in person, see many different sites throughout London, and to see their hometown of Newton Abbot.

While I have the means to attend this trip at this time, Marilyn does not. She has poured much of her resources into her daughter Leslie, who was severely disabled. Most unfortunately, Leslie passed away in September just weeks after we came up with the idea for the England Trip. Marilyn and her family then proceeded to move out of their house, leaving behind many painful memories. Now, Marilyn does not have the funds to participate in this trip which is why we are asking you for help.

We would like to raise $2500 to cover the flight to England and for other trip expenses. Our trip will take place in early April so we would like to raise the amount well before that time. We cannot do this without your generosity. Thank you for reading.

Autism is a neurological disorder that affects 1/88 kids and many cases have gone undiagnosed. Characteristics vary from mild social and cognitive difficulties to an inability to connect with the world around them. Positively Autistic strives to raise Positive Autism Awareness through weekly podcasts on Blog Talk Radio and other charity events held locally in Newton Abbot, U.K.

During the course of the England Trip, Positively Autistic will hold a conference discussing the future of the organization bringing together all their members for the first time. The conference will be held in the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust at Seale-Hayne located in Newton Abbot. The date of the conference is yet to be determined.
