Not By Sight -A Vision For Evely

This is our sweet girl,  Evely. Evely was born with a rare condition called "anophthalmia". This means she was born without eyes.  Evely also has CHD, microcephaly, hypotonia, physical and developmental delays,  she's 100% gtube fed, she uses a wheelchair,  she's non verbal and she's prone to seizures. Evely has and is expected to always require full care.  Which is why we are hoping, with your support,  we can get Evely a safe sleep bed. 

Sleep Safe beds are designed for special needs children and adults. They exceed all FDA hospital guidelines and are built with no gaps to prevent falls and entrapment. The safety rails can easily be pulled down and removed.

This year, we learned Evely has obstructive sleep apnea which results in her airway collapsing about seven times an hour throughout the night while she sleeps. “Because she doesn’t have eyes and is completely blind her body does not produce melatonin naturally so sleep in general is a struggle for her. It’s scary. It’s terrifying. I’m always afraid I’m going to fall asleep too hard and won’t hear if something is going on with her. Her being prone to seizures only intensifies our fears.

This would be Evely’s forever bed as she is expected to always need full care. Evely being blind, a sensory seeker, having low tone and being prone to seizures, this bed would keep her safe, prevent falls, allow safe feedings, allow her to sleep in positions that will relieve GERD and give us piece of mind.
