My niece Jasmine recently suffered a huge blow, she lost her beloved Jordan on August 9th, 2018 I am setting up this page to ask for financial help , as a couple they both financially contributed to daily costs of living, without him she is no longer able to meet financial obligations alone, she is in her last year of University and needs our help! Anything helps !
Hello everyone,

Tragically on the 9th of August 2018, she lost her partner Jordan Carhoun of 7 years to a lengthy battle of heroin addiction. Jasmine wanted Jordan’s story out there and to be told to hopefully save another life, and to put the warning out there for others; about the dangers and possible outcomes of addiction.

Backstory: Jasmine and Jordan first met at the young age of 18 years old; it was shortly after meeting each other that they first became friends, then best friends, then slowly, but surely, the loves of each other’s lives. Through the years, Jasmine and Jordan shared so many precious memories and moments; Jordan was a larger than life and down to earth guy, he loved many things in life, some including snowboarding, hanging out with his friends and family and gaming out.

Everyone that knew Jordan, new his love for Cannabis and food, with some of his best memories being at home with Jazz, eating his favorite food and having her cook for him. Jordan was one of the hardest working men that we all knew, he was a wiz in school, work, and life in general. Jordan had the biggest heart and the kindest soul; but as goes with a big heart and a kind soul, came with it many inner demons that he tried his best to get rid of. It was a few years ago that Jordan was first introduced to heroin, by a “supposed” friend; and it only took him this one time, like million beyond millions of other sick people in this world, to get addicted.

Jordan’s battle with addiction was something that he was always honest about when it came to light, and it’s been something that Jasmine has helped him battle with on and off for 3 years. Jordan completed one month at rehab and was clean for close to a year; but again, sadly life’s stress got to him and he went to the only outlet he knew - drugs.

It was on that Thursday afternoon that Jasmine came home from work and sadly found Jordan overdosed on heroin laced with fentanyl; Jasmine wanted to tell his story, because Jordan - to conceal his relapse- decided to use alone. It was because of this decision, one made by many others before him, that we don’t have this stoic sweet man with us here today. We are telling you his story because we don’t want any other family to go through this pain and devastating loss.

Jasmine wants to put the warning out for anyone suffering from addiction or know someone who is suffering from addiction to please, if possible, get professional help ex. Rehab, counselling, addiction groups etc. -or if you can’t, and you do use; please use with a partner, or use at a safe injection sight, or call someone on the phone while you use so if you do overdose that you can access medical help before It’s too late. No one should lose their lives to addiction and no one should have to find their loved ones in that way; please do anything you can to help your friends suffering from addiction and hold them close to you.

We are trying to raise money for Jazz during this difficult time as Jordan and jasmine both contributed to each other’s livelihoods ex. rent, food, and bills. Jazz is now going to need a little help from all of us to make the necessary adjustments to take care of things on her own during this time of grief. Jasmine starts back this September at UBC for her last year of school to finish her teaching degree. We appreciate every single donation and love you all. Thank you in advance. Rest easy Jordan, until we all meet again ❤
