Memphis Needs A Pacemaker

Memphis is our German shepherd collie. She has had a heart murmur for 2 years now and things got bad a few weeks ago. She has Third Degree-AVB which means she needs a pacemaker or she could drop dead. I dislike using those words, but that’s exactly how our vet described it. For the past few weeks she wobbles and or faints and it is devastating to see her go through this. A pacemaker will give her a life she deserves to live.
We were prepared for the bill to be approximately 4-5 thousand. We found out today it will be closer to 8 thousand. That’s the non invasive surgery to give her the pacemaker including her vet visit she had that they gave her an ultrasound, ECG and X-rays plus the cardiologists driving over an hour away to test her in our town.
This is becoming extremely costly, but we’ve come such a long way with her that we can’t imagine turning back and we won’t regardless. She is a strong lovable dog and deserves to have quality of life.
As a teenager I was driving down the street where my elementary teacher waved me down. I pulled over and she showed me little baby Memphis who had been roaming the area for a while. She asked if I could help and I was hesitant at first. Mainly because of my mother and the fact we had just put our 17 year old dog Cochise down a few weeks prior. I open my car door to check her out and she jumped in, curled up in my passenger seat and looked at me like “are you really planning on leaving me here? Ha, let’s go already.” She claimed us that day and we’ve been devoted to each other ever since.
At this point I am thankful for any support we can get. I have spent time volunteering for rescues over the years and now I’m asking for support for my fur baby. If you can not donate I understand, but PLEASE share our link. You never know who will relate to our story.
