Be Turtley Awesome, Shell Out.

We recently watched the ABC War in Waste series and were so sad to see our amazing turtles suffering. As we are up in far North Queensland we thought we could help these amazing creatures by doing some fundraising for the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre on Fitzroy Island (CTRC). CTRC is a volunteer operated, non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. The Great Barrier Reef is home to six of the world’s seven species of marine turtles. A number of these are seriously threatened by a diverse range of natural and, more significantly, human induced factors.CTRC treats injured and sick marine turtles brought in from the Great Barrier Reef and Cape York Peninsula. Personal commitments and donations from local businesses keep the centre running with more than 170 sick and injured animals brought in for treatment over the past 15 years. Founded in 2000 by Paul Barnes and Jennie Gilbert using their own resources.We will be visiting the centre on Wednesday 29th August to see the amazing work they do and we need your help to raise much needed funds for this amazing place.
