Founded in 1997, PSP-HEMC is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history and heritage of the Pennsylvania State Police, as well as remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
In 2005, PSP-HEMC officially opened its facility, which housed a mini-museum, an office, and retail store. During the past decade, PSP-HEMC has helped to foster a good relationship between the community and the Pennsylvania State Police through its educational exhibits, tours, and lectures.
In order to increase the amount of services it can provide, PSP-HEMC began its “Phase II” 6,000 square foot expansion to its existing building. The new facility not only increases the amount of exhibit space, but also includes a Memorial Chapel and a multi-purpose room where classes and lectures can be held. The basement of the addition provides the needed storage space for PSP-HEMC’s vast collection of artifacts and archival materials. The grand opening for "Phase II" was in April!
Now, the Museum is in need of funds to cover operational costs and new projects, so we can continue to preserve and showcase the rich history of our nation's first constabulary.
