Support Lung Cancer Research

My wonderful father has died from lung cancer even though he didn't smoke. Lung cancer still has the stigma of being a disease that only smokers get and most people think that everyone who has it has caused it by their own irresponsible behaviour. This is not true!

We want to raise awareness that lung cancer is a disease that can hit everyone. You could be next, your mother or father, a good friend or even your own child. About 20-25 % of lung cancer patients have either never smoked or only very briefly. These 20-25 % either have a genetic mutation that causes the disease or were exposed to toxic substances at work or in the area where they live. There is nothing they could have done to prevent the disease. These people are often very young, there are many non smoking lung cancer patients in their 30s and 40s and some even get sick in their 20s.

We want to raise awareness to this and would like to ask everyone to donate to lung cancer research in honour of my father who didn't smoke, who led a healthy lifestyle and regularly exercised and still was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer last year and died from it after fighting against it bravely for as long as he could.

Every Cent that you donate will go to the German Cancer Research Institute/Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum in Heidelberg and they will use it for their lung cancer research projects.

Please support our cause for a future where no one will have to die from lung cancer or any other type of cancer anymore. And please don't get this wrong, we feel sorry for every single lung cancer patient and don't blame them at all, no matter if they smoked or not.
