5th Annual AMIKids Holiday Feasts

Donation protected
UPDATE: We had a wonderful time cooking and sharing a meal with the students and their families at AMIKids!

We are continuing to fundraise for a Christmas Party at AMKids Infinity School!  We will have a corn hole tournament, pizza, ice cream sundaes and we hope to give each student a small gift as well.

We are so excited to share a Thanksgiving meal with the students of AMIKids for the 5th straight year!  We will share in this meal on Tuesday, November 20th at 3pm, but will need volunteers throughout the entire day.

AMIKids have moved into their very own facility, but unfortunately do not have the full kitchen as before.  Due to this, we will have to prep for the meal on Monday, Nov. 19th at All Saints United Methodist Church (stay tuned for more details)

We plan to also send a Thanksgiving meal home with each student to prepare with their families.

The mission of AMI Kids:

In order for our communities to prosper, we must provide our kids with a high quality education and essential life skills to become responsible and productive citizens. For kids striving to become contributing members of the community, obstacles to achieving success can seem unachievable.

Many of today’s youth face a variety of challenges: violence, family dysfunction, and the pressure of using drugs and alcohol. These challenges do not have to define our kids. Our kids can overcome. Our kids can be successful. Our kids can achieve. Together, we can assist our kids to separate a troubled past from a bright future.

Why give?

Your donation will help to support programs to enrich and encourage the students of this school. Community members are joining together to help this school achieve its mission. In practical terms, this means not just bring a meal to the students, but interacting with the students and having them help cook there own Thanksgiving dinner. For some students, this could be the first the time they have had true Thanksgiving feast. By making the students part of the preparation of the feast, the students build skills and confidence that transcend the classroom. Financial support of this effort will allow us to provide every child in the school with a Thanksgiving feast that they can take home and prepare for their family.

As the Holiday season begins, we often see a time of great giving, closeness of family, and reflection on the year gone by. For students that come from a troubled past, this season can be a time of challenge. Often, they have a difficult home life, a need to find a positive future, or perhaps they are simply looking for security in this world. Beyond the Thanksgiving feast, your donation will support holiday events for students and their families. The goal of which is to build strength through a partnership between school, students, families, and the community.  Your support helps to encourage the students to pursue a brighter future and help to separate a troubled past from a brighter future.
