For those of you who know Mark Peaslee, you know him as creative, artistic, and on the move. He is at his best when he is working hard, engaged in humorous conversation, or enjoying a good meal. Unfortunately, this past year, Mark has battled multiple health issues.
His battles began last year, when he had emergency back surgery in September. Surgery did not go smoothly. But, he began rehab. and started to make progress. However, he began to experience unrelenting abdominal pain. The pain was excruciating, and he was admitted to the hospital in February for chronic, acute pancreatitis.  His struggle with this illness has been a rollercoaster. Mark has spent over 50 days in/out of the hospital during the last few months. He has experienced just about every complication...extreme weight loss, malnutrition, blood clots, blocked pancreatic ducts, multiple pseudocysts, abscesses, internal bleeding,  etc. In June, Mark underwent emergency abdominal surgery when he was admitted for septic shock. He once again battled through with inspiring strength. His surgeon would later tell him that he had “walked through death’s door”. Those were tough words to hear. For Mark, especially.
UDATE: Mark has been home from the hospital/nursing home for over a month.  He is doing very well. He is beginning to look more like himself...and is finally able to eat again. Although he has a long way to go to regain the 60 pounds he lost. He currently needs to continue to rest, eat, rest, and eat. Healing and building his strength will be a long, slow process.
Additionally, another hospitalization and procedure looms in his future to remove fluid from around his lung, so this journey is not over. But...it does appear he is finally on the upward trend. Thank you to everyone for your love & support. We are looking forward to seeing THIS GUY, in the picture below, soon!❤️
