Obituary:

Blacksburg -- Knox Douglas Hambright Jr., 40, of 658 Martin Hill Road, passed away Friday, June 29th, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Shelby, he was the son of Knox Hambright and wife, Laura, and Cheryl Martin Coffey and husband, Roger. Mr. Hambright loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his time fishing and hunting. He was member of Nazareth Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr Hambright is survived by a son, Jerry Hayden Hambright; one brother, Jeff Hambright; one sister, Christy Osborne and Jennifer Fugua, Brandy Jackson, Devan Toney, and Kayla Hughey; maternal grandparents, Curtis Martin; aunts and uncles Linda Stewart (Elbert), Curtis Martin (Janet), Rene Ettlemeyer (Larry Blanton), Rick Martin (Shandon), Cleve Hambright (Rita), and Vickie White (Bobby); special great-aunts Shirley Moss, Ruth Ellis, and Daris O'brien; a great-uncle, Charles Moss; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Rebecca Moss Martin, and his paternal grandparents, Forrest and Dot Mullinax and Kyrk Hambright.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2nd, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Nazareth Baptist Church with Rev. Gregg Martin, Rev. Lucky Earls, Rev. Don Horton, and Rev. Jamie Billings officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Matthew Martin, Phillip Martin, Eddie Duff, Jonathan Leagon, Curtis Martin Jr, Ricky Martin, and Jonathan Butler will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at his residence and also at the home of his father, Knox, at 168 Hambright Trail, Blacksburg.
