Kemp Ewing's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
For the last 14 years, Kemp Ewing has struggled with a heart condition brought on by a virus. On Dec. 6, 2013, Kemp was implanted with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), a machine that helps the heart do its job when it has failed. Kemp now awaits a heart transplant.

Kemp was an ideal candidate for the LVAD surgery and was expected to wake up the day after surgery and begin recovering.  Unfortunately, Kemp suffered a major stroke and several small strokes during and after the surgery.  One week after surgery, Kemp awoke to an uphill battle ... he began learning to talk, walk, read, feed himself, write, live all over again.

This site was set up by 2 coworkers of Kemp's wife, Terese.  We can attest to the strength and perseverance of the Ewing family. Despite the difficulties they have faced throughout Kemp's medical issues, they are positive, supportive, and so full of joy. They truly rely on each other and never complain. They trust that God has a plan for them. Kemp has touched so many lives through coaching, teaching, and within his family and friends.  It's our turn to help them!

Of course, medical bills can run up quickly from procedures and hospital stays like this. If you are able to donate any amount, large or small, it would be so appreciated!
