Carrie and Dan need our Help!

If you live in Black Mountain, you know we just experienced a tremendous amount of rainfall. Most of us faired the storm and life is back to usual. Dan and Carrie however spent the night in fear that they were going to lose everything they had! They had a beautiful large flat yard that dropped down to Flat Creek. If you know Carrie and Dan at all, you know they loved their yard and spent countless hours planting new plants and mulching because their yard was pretty special. On Tuesday night they could feel and hear the creek..like a freight train in their back yard! They knew they were losing stuff. They loaded up their car with their most valuable stuff and went to Carrie’s office to sleep. In the morning when they came back, half of their yard was gone! And their house was on the edge! Folks came from the Town of Black Mountain, from the fire department and told them their house could go at any moment. Dan and Carrie reacted quick and started ordering large rock to put into the creek to try and put it back in its natural path. And this was super expensive! After a day of hard work, they have made great progress! And one day, they will have a beautiful yard back (I just know it!).
Let’s show Dan and Carrie we love them! After I took my 13 year old to see it, without any prompt from me, he came home and went straight to his room and brought out his wallet and said, “I want to give this all to Carrie and Dan. They need this”. It wasn’t much, but it counts! Please give anything. No amount is too small.
