Over 60 years of being on the Estate, the youth club started off as a boys club meeting in Sam Jones' front room. 58 years ago this youth club was built and has been enhancing the lives of young people ever since. My involvement in the club spans nearly 16 years and in that time the club has continued to develop. Currently running 5 nights a week with 8 different youth club sessions, spanning from Juniors, to seniors, young people with additional needs, young people with mental health problems and volunteers. We also have community projects such as a parents group and community café, as well as a thriving bowls club and armchair areobics group. We have a variety of case studies with lives that we have helped to change and a part with have played in helping young people with their personal and social development.
Currently funded by the Lottery our current funding comes to an end in October 2020 we are starting to think to the future and we do not want it to end! Currently there is no other youth provision on the estate, we are attracting between 20-50 young people to our junior provision, what will these young people do if our funding doesn't continue?
