Mason Giving Back To The Mercy

Never in your wildest dreams do you expect to go into labour at 24 weeks and 6 days, but we did. We welcomed our incredibly tough little boy at 25 weeks gestation on the 13th March. Over the past 11 weeks, the Mercy for Women Hospital have gone above and beyond for us and worked tirelessly to keep our baby, and so many others alive. It has been the hardest time we have ever experienced, sometimes only being able to take it hour by hour as Mason was just so sick and unstable. But he is a champion and got through and we know we are one of the lucky ones. We are now looking at the final weeks of our journey in the hospital but something we will always be appreciative of is that these services were available at a time we never expected to need them. We are forever thankful that Mason was born in Australia, for medicine and technology and for the Mercy. They save thousands of babies lives each year. We have had so many people follow along on our journey and we wanted to put together this fundraiser to give back to the hospital as a thank you and although nothing will ever be enough, every little bit helps them so much. We aren’t the first parents to go through this underground world and we won’t be the last but if the money raised can help the hospital and other families on their journey, then that’s humbling for us to know.
