Vincent Harvey: Beating Cancer 2018

Donation protected
My brother, Vincent Harvey, of Erie, PA., was diagnosed with melanoma at the end of the summer in 2017. He had a mole removed from his neck that kept growing, so they sent it out for testing and it came back positive for cancer. He had a follow up surgery to remove his lymph node and some surrounding tissue, but it all came back negative. Over the next few months, the scar on his neck started to get lumpy and bulge a bit. He went in to the doctor again, concerned and they did a full body MRI and determined that he was now at stage 4 melanoma, because it has metastasized outside of the original location, into his lungs. Vince has always had issues with severe asthma since he was a young boy, so the cancer showing up now in his lungs is definitely scary. He started cancer treatment in Pittsburgh and is currently receiving treatments about every 3 weeks. Now he is experiencing side effects to the medicine (Keytruda) treatment for his cancer which is starting to really affect his breathing. They have to prescribe him more inhalers to take care of the breathing which his insurance covers only a very small portion. He also has to stay down in Pittsburgh to get biopsies and more testing to make sure the medicine they have him on is working. He has an upcoming visit in the next 2 weeks where he will find out if this medicine is shrinking his tumors. Vince has good insurance but, is already starting to see large bills that aren’t covered by his insurance. We are starting this GOFUNDME page to help with costs related to his treatment, gas money, hotel stays, as well as the inevitable time off from work he’s going to need to continue his treatments. Vince is a devoted and loving Father, Husband, and Brother, who is always there to help everyone else when they need it. I hope you can find it in your hearts to help him now in his time of need. As any of you that work in the health care know, these treatments and surgeries and everything involved with cancer are hugely expensive. We would like him to focus on his treatment, health and his family, not worrying about how he’s going to pay these bills and support his family during this trying time. I pray every day that he gets better and ask that you all do too! I’m very close with my brother Vincent. I would do anything for him. Please keep him in your prayers at night. Thank you so much for reading his journey and donating what you can to help! Please share this post with everyone you know. If a million people give a dollar, that’s a lot of money.
