We're thrilled that our latest short film “Falling in Love in a Coffeeshop” was selected to screen at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this spring. This is a tremendous opportunity not only to share our film with a global audience, but also to connect with potential funders to support future work. At the Marché du Film (the "market" at the Festival), Wax Idiotical will have the chance to pitch its feature length film, Writer, to thousands of buyers and companies, with the hope of gaining financial backing to produce the film.
Your donation to this campaign will help to cover airfare and lodging, so that the Wax Idiotical team can represent our short film and our production company in person. Any remaining funds will go directly to the production of future films by WI.
WI has produced nearly 30 short films since it formed back in 2008, and has been declared (unofficially, in an elevator) the "winningest" team by the international 48 Hour Film Project, earning nearly 100 awards and nominations from that body, including 7 awards for Best Film. We've managed this success through the generous support of our family, friends, patrons, and viewers. We still need your support, and are grateful for any amount you can contribute. Every dollar helps.
