Haiti Lighthouse Lands Project

HELP us RAISE THE ROOF: In 2010 my aunt Chamine and her three small children passed away when their home collapsed on them in the Haiti earthquake. Chamine moved to Port-au-Prince just three months prior to the earthquake because she couldn't farm enough food to keep her family alive.

My aunt Chamine meant so much to us because she had the purest of hearts. She always had a kind word and a warm smile on her face, always willing to help anyone, sharing whatever little she had with the next person, whether she knew you or not. Since that tragic day, in honor of my aunt Chamine and her three children's memory, my sisters (Gilberthe and Claudia), my best friend Marquita, and I have been on a quest to make sure that other women and children in my native homeland of Haiti can provide food for their families in the rural countryside. While many saw the destruction and devastation of the earthquake and questioned the ability of the Haitian people to rise from the rubble. We, the founders of the Lighthouse LANDS Project dared to believe that where there is life, there is hope!

Our family believed in this vision so much that they have donated over 300 acres of land to us, and now we need your help to build our FIRST COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER. This center will be used as a place to teach sustainable farming techniques in all areas to the women employing the latest scientific and technological innovations, provide a nutritious meal to their children utilizing the crops they harvest, educate them on basic business principles & entrepreneurship, as well as serve as shelter for those women who are homeless.

The core mission of the Lighthouse LANDS Project is to overcome hunger and poverty in Haiti. Our vision for accomplishing this task is to develop learning communities on the donated land in the Haitian department of Grand'Anse. The learning communities use a twofold methodology consisting of agriculture and architecture solutions to support the Lighthouse LANDS Project value of empowerment, innovation, sustainability and multiplication.

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS. Therefore, we ask for your support of this project whether it's $1, $10, $200, $1000 or $20,000. We would be grateful and the people of Haiti would be very grateful. Thank you in advance for your support!
