Our family home in Irondale burned down today, Friday, May 11th, 2018. Thankfully, everyone is safe, including my mother and special needs brother, who were home at the time of the fire. They are both currently at UAB hospital, and my brother is still in the ICU, but we’re expecting them both to make a full recovery. My family is going to have to rebuild their lives from scratch. The only items that survived the fire are the clothes that my mother and brother were wearing at the time - they didn’t even have shoes on. We have had an overwhelming outpouring of calls, prayers, and people asking how they can help, so I am setting up this GoFundMe page. With my brother’s special medical condition - there are a lot of extra expenses that won’t be covered by insurance. There will also be many out of pocket costs that my family will have as they replace their basic necessities including food, clothing, medicines, and as they find someplace to live.We’d greatly appreciate anything you could give to help.
