Eugene Sotela and Family fund
As you all know Eugene has opted to start hospice care after valiantly fighting cancer for almost 8 years. I have been contacted by so many loving family and friends asking what they can do to help. It is very difficult for me to accept help. However, the following weeks will be difficult for us emotionally and financially. Any amount you would like to contribute to our family will help with the costs our family will encounter. Please do not feel obligated to contribute. We love you all and thank you for all the love you have all been sending our way.+ Read More
It was so awesome too see so many of you at the Celebration of Life for Eugene! Eugene must have been amazed to see how many people he touched. I apologize to those of you that I didn’t get to speak to. It was quite overwhelming for me emotionally as you can imagine. Thank you once again for all your support. A big hug from Karina, Nadia and I.
The support we have been receiving continues to amaze me! Thank you alll! Eugene passed away peacefully around 8:30am yesterday May 15th. He is now free from pain and reunited with his father Jose Antonio Sotela, cousin Paul Watanabe and his Uncle Joe Watanabe among others. The girls and I are heartbroken but fortunately left with so many good memories and countless pictures. Eugene chose to be cremated and did not want a funeral service. Instead we will be celebrating his life on May 26, 2018 with his favorite music and food. More details to come. Thank you all for your extremely generous support. It has helped tremendously and eased a lot of stress. God Bless you all! Maritza
We are truly humbled and moved to tears by your generosity! It means more than you will ever know. Eugene is sadly not lucid anymore due to the amount of medication he is on to ease his suffering. He is surrounded by loved ones as he progresses in his journey. A big hug and kiss from our family to you all!
