Bring Daddy home

On April 10 2018, I installed a Nanny Cam in my dad's room at his nursing home. After he told me stories of abuse. That night, I caught a nightmare. My dad slipped out of bed, and laid on the floor for over an hour, before a staff member finally responded to his calls for help.  She walked in, looked over the bed at him, did not check that he was ok, and walked out. He continued to call for help , for another 15 minutes. When they finally returned , they started the berate him, insult him. "Damn you stink."
Then, “What are you doing there?” a staff member says. Dad not hearing her said "huh?",  and she repeated her question. “What are you doing on the floor?”
“I need help,” my dad replies.

My dad tells the staff that he had to go to the bathroom, but had an accident while waiting.

The staff proceeds to change him on the floor, even though he repeatedly tells them he’s cold.
“You were on the bed. You decided to go on the floor, so don’t complain that it’s cold,” a staff member says.

The same staff member even faults my dad for having a stroke.
“You had to do something very wrong with your life. What did you do? You’re suffering so bad, so you’ve done something wrong. Yes, you did,” she says.

After a while, they finally lift my dad into his bed, none too gently, where he was dropped into the bed by one, and had his legs thrown into the bed by the other.
Then the shaming begins.  They shamed him for being incontinent .
“How old are you?" Says one. The other one says "1?" The first one says, "Listen to me, how old are you?" Dad says "68", The first one said , "You’re supposed to be enjoying your retirement. Instead, look what you are doing, pooping on yourself. Shame on you,”

On February 23 2018, my dad suffered a stroke. I didn't know until I went to check on him on the 25th, when he did not respond to a phone call or text. When he hollered out for help, my husband helped break in, to get to my dad, while I called 911.
Where he was rushed to Wake Med, where MRI confirmed a stroke. I brought dad home, after a stay in the hospital, and after a week, I realized I was in over my head. I sat down with dad and cried, told him I need help. And we agreed to place him in a facility for more rehab. His home health case worker came and helped. I wished I had a better option. I truly did, but my house is not appropriate for a wheelchair, my porch is too small, my foundation is shifting, my downstairs bathroom in not big enough for a wheelchair, both showers are upstairs, and neither are wheelchair friendly. I want to bring him home. I want to add on  a mother in law suite, and have it big enough to adequately take care of my dad. Right now, we cannot make that happen, so we have decided to ask for help.

Please, Help Bring Daddy home.
