Anthony's Health Journey

Anthony has been in the hospital since Tuesday, March 27th. His journey began by going to Mary Greeley in Ames, IA due to having a small stroke in the left side of the brain, and a small brain aneurysm was also detected. After going to the ER at Mary Greeley, it was decided it was best for Anthony to be transferred down to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA due to the complex case. After spending several days at Mercy we decided as a family to transfer him to Mayo in Rochester, MN to get a second opinion.

Since being transferred to Mayo, Anthony has gone through many tests which led to having open heart surgery to replace the aortic valve. The heart surgery went well, but unfortunately shortly after Anthony got to the ICU he had complications which resulted in brain surgery. We, along with the doctors, are hopeful that Anthony’s brain will heal up because he is young and healthy. It will be a very long journey, and it sounds like at least 6-8 weeks left in the hospital if not longer.

As a family we have decided to create this GoFundMe page. Every donation will be used to help cover medical expenses and living expenses for Jaden as this will be a long road and most of their days will be spent in Rochester.
