Emily is a recent graduate of the University of Morris MN. She is a hard working girl who holds down two jobs while continuing her education at Alexandria Technical College for her law enforcement degree.
On the 19th of Dec. 2017 she was admitted to SCMC due to complications with her liver and an enlarged spleen. It was also discovered that she had two ovarian cysts. She was put on steroids and sent home on Christmas when her white blood cell count came down.
A week later she was back in the hospital for a bit due to high fevers.
On the 15th of January she was back in again and was then transported to St. Cloud because her oxygen levels were very low and she was having a hard time breathing. While there the infectious disease doctor ran many tests. She was sent home again on the 19th. She was right back on the 21st because they finally determined that she has histoplasmosis. This is a fungal infection that affected her lungs and spread to her liver and kidneys. She is on medication for it now and is on the mend but it can take up to a year to get completely better.
Emily is a great person, a super hard worker and one of our favorite co-workers at the Old # 1. We have set up this go fund me page so that she can work a few less hours and focus on getting herself better! Throughout all of this she has still been working to keep up with her bills.
