Water for Minas Gerais – Brazil /Água Para Minas

This campaign was created on behalf of families affected by the disruption of two dams in Governador Valadares and Doce River region in the state of Minas Gerais, about 250 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.
250,000 still don’t have drinking water two weeks after two dams at a mine in Brazil collapsed on Nov. 5, sending 15.8 billion gallons of waste-laden water and sludge through downstream towns along the Doce River.
They need water that is safe to drink and cook. According to analyses carried out by the city, high quantities of heavy metals & hazardous substances, such as arsenic, lead and mercury were found in the water.
With your donation we will be sending mineral water for the survival of families who are being neglected by the authorities, and can only count on the support from those who are touched by their struggle.

Estamos fazendo essa campanha em prol das famílias afetadas em Governador Valadares e região do Vale do Rio Doce, as mesmas precisam de água segura para beber e cozinhar.
De acordo com análises feitas pelo município, grandes quantidades de metais pesados e substâncias danosas como arsênico, chumbo e mercúrio foram encontrados na água.
