Help Tori's Family See Her Graduate!

Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Taryana Gilbeau and I am graduating from Boston University in May 2014 with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Chinese language. I am a first-generation college student and for many of my family members, my graduation day has the potential to be the first graduation they have ever attended. My family has been so supportive of me and my 4 year journey at Boston University, and it would mean so much to me for them to be there when I put a close to this part of my life and walk across the stage. Most of my family lives in Los Angeles, California and they've spent every penny to make sure that all of my needs have been met while here in Boston. Coming from South Los Angeles not many people make it to college or even out of the city of Los Angeles. My family is the reason why I was able to do that. Although they did not go to college they always let me know that education was going to be the way I would be able to leave South LA for bigger and better things. They supported me when I was given the offer to go to BU and although I am not able to go home often, when I am able to see them they remind me how much seeing me chase after my dreams inspires them. What they do not realize is they are the reason why I am here and why I made it to my senior year.
College was not an easy four years and there were many times when I thought I would not be able to make it through to the next day. I have always felt like I was abandoning my family for college but they always remind me that they would not have wanted me anywhere else. They have kept positive when I thought this journey was impossible and for that I am forever grateful for them. My family has been so selfless, all in the efforts to see me succeed; they deserve a chance to see what their contributions have done for me.
As a full-time college student and with plane tickets as expensive as they are, a lot of my family will not be able to come here. I am working through Thanksgiving break and some of winter vacation to provide some funds for housing for them. It would be a blessing to have some of them come to share this special day with me. They each have given me all that they could that has brought me to where I am today, and the biggest thank you that I could give them is to get them here to Boston to see that their investment in me was not in vain. I am in need of your help and any contribution will be great!

Thank you!!
