Mason By My Side

This is Mason. He is just 5 years old. He became part of a family with another pup (litter mate) that sadly had to be put down at just 16 months old because he was severely epileptic. This family who is very dear to me and my family has 6 children, however 3 of the young girls have been with Mason since day one. The girls have already had to go through losing a family pet once, and their mom’s heart is broken thinking they could lose Mason too, after just a few years. He's an absolute love, the family adores him, and while they are doing everything they can to save him, the financial burden is mounting.What’s wrong with him you ask?? The vet thinks it's a bacteria infection that has attacked his liver. Possibly leptospirosis (which he was vaccinated for) but that vaccine only helps with 4 strains and there are over 300. Those results aren't in yet. His liver is damaged but not considered in complete failure yet. He’s been at a wonderful animal hospital in NH since Sunday morning. They are trying their best to get him well enough to come home, but he’s not out of the woods yet and we still don’t have all the answers. From the words of my friend, (Mason’s Doggy Mom): “Since he’s always ALWAYS by my side, I am a bit lost not having him home.”
