My daughter and her family desperately need assistance. They have been struggling with multiple incidents just within the last month. Her husband sustained 3rd degree burns on his right arm while burning yard debris. The injures are requiring mulitple visits to the Augusta Burn Center for grafts and follow ups. While insurance will pay a portion, there will still be a significant out of pocket amount due.
The next incident occured last week. During the night both of their vehicles were vandalized. Not knowing who committed the vandalism, they had to pay for the repairs out of pocket, an expense they could not afford due to Roger being able to work limited hours because of his burn injury.
Then on Monday December 10th, a drunk driver (who has neither a driver's license nor auto insurance) plowed into their home causing extensive damage. The home is not habitable (unsecure foundation, electric box pulled due to structural compromise and the well was destroyed). They do not have homeowner's insurance because they were unable to afford the premium this year. Best case scenario the home could be repaired (possibly upwards of $10-20K in repairs) or worst case, the home is a total loss. An uninsured drunk driver just changed everything for this family.
Gwen, Roger and their three children (11, 9, 5 yrs old) are currently staying with my oldest daughter. They are not ones to ask for charity but desperately need help and a little joy and good news to come their way. We are unsure of an exact amount needed but ANY assistance at all would be greatly appreciated. I assure sure as they get back on their feet Gwen and Roger will certainly pay-it-forward.
