Showdown: No Dollar General Joshua Tree
Joshua Tree is the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, one of the most popular national parks in the country. It is home to world-class artists, writers, educators, astronomers, naturalists, musicians and those seeking alternative lifestyles. Joshua Tree, this cultural jewel of the desert is under relentless attack by corporate greed. We are in a modern-day David and Goliath struggle to keep our small-town charm, dark night skies and wild animal corridors that are enjoyed by residents and international visitors alike.
I am very pleased to report that the San Bernardino Court has ruled in our favor and is going to require that the County and Dynamic Development abide by the law and do an Environmental Impact Report. We don't know what the eventual outcome will be but this is a big victory for all of us who are doing everything we can to support the small businesses and creative culture of Joshua Tree. Our lawyer Babak Naficy did a wonderful job of representing us. We are very grateful for your donations to the No Dollar General in Joshua Tree legal defense fund.
Thank you all for your support.
