The Craig's Missions Trip to Haiti

As I'm sure you've noticed, the global attention given to Haiti has risen dramatically since the devastating earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince in January 2010. However, Haiti was one of the poorest nations in the world even before the earthquake, with over 50 percent of Haitians living on less than $1 per day. Due to this poverty, a weak government and the disruption of the country's infrastructure during the quake, many of the Haitian people lack important access to basic resources. Sadly, we can't do anything about the incredible loss of life that occurred during the earthquake, but there is much to be done in Haiti nonetheless.
From August 13-20, 2014 Brian and I will be traveling to Haiti with a team of people from all of the country to help in the rebuilding effort. We will be working with Partners in Development, a Christian development organization that has been working in Haiti for over 20 years, coming alongside Haitians to create lasting change. You can learn more about PID on their website at www.PIDonline.org. For many years PID has been building houses in Haiti, all of which survived the earthquake.
Our team will be working alongside a full-time Haitian construction crew digging foundations, mixing cement, sorting rocks, and generally doing the grunt work that will allow the building to go more quickly. We will be sleeping in a guesthouse on the premises of PID and working 8:30 A.M."“ 4:30 P.M. on the construction site. During the evenings we will be able to learn more about the social and economic situation in Haiti and to hear stories of those who survived the earthquake.
Each team member is responsible for raising $1,600 for the trip. This will cover our airfare, food, transportation in Haiti and the costs of the construction work. We need to have all of the money raised by June. Would you consider supporting us in this work? Any contribution you make would be greatly appreciated.
We also ask for your prayers for the duration of our trip. Please pray for our safety both in traveling and on the construction site, and for our attitudes and energy to be a gift to those we are going to serve.
