Help Rebuild Our Fire Ravaged Home

Until last night we thought our new neighbours were lovely. This house was meant to be a safe house, for us to escape my mum’s violent ex.
My little brother has only half a working heart (a rare heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia); and my mum is disabled with a degenerative spine. That’s why we moved to the seaside, as a place for them to recouperate and do so in complete safety. My brother only just turned 5 years old last week - his condition is, ultimately, terminal. The only care he receives is palliative, and the thought that we could have lost him last night, when his life is so short already, is devastating.
Last night (16th April 2018/17th April 2018) we were awoken at around 1am by the smell of smoke and the vision of flames roaring from our garage. A person committed arson and attempted murder by setting our house on fire with the help of a can of petrol, and they’re in police custody. We’ve never even met him. I can’t understand why anyone would do this to us.
Mum served 26 years in the NHS, working in operating theatres and saving people’s lives; but as she’s medically retired we have no income, and thus nothing with which to rebuild our lives (and thank goodness we still have those). Her mobility scooter was completely destroyed in the blaze, as were many of the things that we had to decorate the house (we only moved here in November).
We only got back from hospital around about 5am this morning after being tested/treated for smoke inhalation. We are all exhausted, physically and emotionally. This home was meant to be our new start.
Please, if you can share this page and/or give anything to help us rebuild our lives, we would be so, SO greatful.
Quick note: I’ve changed our location purely because this is meant to be a secure address/safe house and I’m just trying to keep my family safe and protected. We are in the Humberside region.
