On Sunday January 28, 2018 Kyle was taken to MUSC Children's Hospital after being sick. They discovered a golfball size tumor on the back, lower part of his brain. Since Sunday Kyle has had MRIs, an 8+ hour brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, lots of drs in and out. It has been an overwhelming week for him and his family. The drs are pleased with his recovery so far. It was uncertain if he would be able to breath on his own, walk, talk etc after the surgery without long term rehabilitation. Kyle, being the strong little fighter he is, woke up from that long surgery breathing on his own, able to talk and move his arms and legs. Praise God! They are still waiting for the pathology report to give them more of a prognosis. It may take a few days. Regardless of the pathology results, Kyle will be undergoing Radiation and Chemotherapy in the future. It is a long, uncharted road ahead for them. As they figure out the plan and help Kyle get through this long journey they are so thankful for all of your prayers! Please continue to pray for Kyle and full healing.

I've been friends with Olga for the last 15 years and she is the most kind, generous, helpful person I have ever met! She's the first one to volunteer to help someone who needs it. She has a servants heart and I am proud to call her a best friend. ❤️ Coming together and helping her is the least I can do. I thought that getting some donations together to help ease any financial burden during this already difficult time, would be a good start. They will be at the hospital for a long while and traveling to also see Claire, go home for showers etc. They can use this money for gas, food and bills over the next few months as they stay by Kyle's side. The money will go directly to Olga and Blue to use as needed. I know as the amazingly helpful person she is, she isn't one that asks for help. She's used to being the doer. So I took it upon myself to get this started because I know that she would do the same for me. Finances are the last thing they need to worry about during this time. So if you're able to donate even just a dollar, that'd be great. If you can't donate, no worries! Please just continue to pray for Kyle, Claire, Olga and Blue.

I will post updates in here as I get them. If you "follow" this campaign it should email you updates as they're posted.

Kyle can't receive visitors at this time. He is in the ICU and they won't let us go up there. However if you are wanting to drop off something to help cheer him or Claire up, you can leave it with the front desk at MUSC Children's hospital. And tell them it is for Joseph (Kyle) Glover. He's in Unit 7C in room 777.

Quick update on Kyle’s Mri: it was stable, praise God. This is what we were hoping and praying for. No bad news, no growth and he’ll continie with his treatments.
they will be in New York through the weekend, and Kyle has another appt next week. But they are able to rest easy for tonight and this weekend knowing that the MRI results did not show any growth in the tumor and it’s stable.

Thank you for the continued prayers!

8/29/18 update:

Hi everyone! The Glover’s are on their way to New York. Well, 3/4 of them. Claire stayed back in Charleston with grandparents so that she can do school. Please pray for her this next week as they will be gone for a little longer than the last few trips. She was sad to not go with them. Kyle is having an MRI on Friday. They can use all the prayers! Praying for good results and that the tumor is stable. They will stay in NY after the MRI waiting on results, and for him to have another appointment next week. We’re praying for safe travels, stable MRI results on the tumor and for Claire as she’s unable to join them this trip.

I will post again when I hear how the MRI shows. Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers! It means so much to them. ❤️

Hey everyone! Today I went to visit with Olga + Blue, and thought I’d give a quick update on them. They’ve been doing well, just taking it easy at home. On Sunday they will be leaving for Myrtle Beach. They were gifted a stay at a timeshare there. They’ll enjoy a little family fun for the week. When they return from Myrtle beach, they will be heading right back out for another routine trip to NY. They stay in Ny for 2 nights, but it takes them 2 days to get there so it’s about a week long trip. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel. Traveling can be so exhausting.

Kyle was in good spirits today! He and my boys laughed and laughed (see photo) as they drove RC Cars around a little makeshift course and shot Lego men with nerf guns. He’s not had any headaches, just tiredness. He told me all about the movies he’s seen and showed me every Lego creation he’s done. (he’s done many!) He is the sweetest boy. Of course, if you’ve met him you already know this. He let Wyatt (my 3 year old) talk his ear off without understanding much of what was said, but he would smile, shake his head and say “ohhh ok” ☺️ It’s not a surprise to me that he’s as kind as he is, he’s got great parents, but with all he’s going through he’s still just so patient and kind and just so underserving of this horrible brain tumor. I’m thankful for these good days and I’m praying for his miracle. ❤️

I will keep everyone posted on his MRI scheduled at the end of the month.

Hi everyone! The Glover’s just got back from another trip to NYC for bloodwork and treatment. Last week Kyle’s headaches started to come back again, but thankfully they quickly improved. They’re hoping it’s becuass they switched his night steroids to hydrocortisone. His appointment went well this trip and they were able to draw blood with just one prick this time, yay! All of his bloodwork looked good. His next MRI is August 31.

Today marks 6 months since Kyle was diagnosed with DIPG. Please continue to pray for him and their whole family. This has been the hardest 6 months of their lives and they’ve got quite a journey ahead with treatment. Olga described it to me as feeling like their life was stolen from them. but Kyle has been feeling well this week, and they are making the best of it! Blue and Olga are two of the best parents I know. They did a little exploring in NY before they came home. ❤️ I attached some photos.

Thank you for prayers and support!! Keep them coming!
