On Sunday January 28, 2018 Kyle was taken to MUSC Children's Hospital after being sick. They discovered a golfball size tumor on the back, lower part of his brain. Since Sunday Kyle has had MRIs, an 8+ hour brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, lots of drs in and out. It has been an overwhelming week for him and his family. The drs are pleased with his recovery so far. It was uncertain if he would be able to breath on his own, walk, talk etc after the surgery without long term rehabilitation. Kyle, being the strong little fighter he is, woke up from that long surgery breathing on his own, able to talk and move his arms and legs. Praise God! They are still waiting for the pathology report to give them more of a prognosis. It may take a few days. Regardless of the pathology results, Kyle will be undergoing Radiation and Chemotherapy in the future. It is a long, uncharted road ahead for them. As they figure out the plan and help Kyle get through this long journey they are so thankful for all of your prayers! Please continue to pray for Kyle and full healing.

I've been friends with Olga for the last 15 years and she is the most kind, generous, helpful person I have ever met! She's the first one to volunteer to help someone who needs it. She has a servants heart and I am proud to call her a best friend. ❤️ Coming together and helping her is the least I can do. I thought that getting some donations together to help ease any financial burden during this already difficult time, would be a good start. They will be at the hospital for a long while and traveling to also see Claire, go home for showers etc. They can use this money for gas, food and bills over the next few months as they stay by Kyle's side. The money will go directly to Olga and Blue to use as needed. I know as the amazingly helpful person she is, she isn't one that asks for help. She's used to being the doer. So I took it upon myself to get this started because I know that she would do the same for me. Finances are the last thing they need to worry about during this time. So if you're able to donate even just a dollar, that'd be great. If you can't donate, no worries! Please just continue to pray for Kyle, Claire, Olga and Blue.

I will post updates in here as I get them. If you "follow" this campaign it should email you updates as they're posted.

Kyle can't receive visitors at this time. He is in the ICU and they won't let us go up there. However if you are wanting to drop off something to help cheer him or Claire up, you can leave it with the front desk at MUSC Children's hospital. And tell them it is for Joseph (Kyle) Glover. He's in Unit 7C in room 777.

Hello everyone! I told Olga I would share her words with you all. She wanted to say thank you for the prayers and generosity. Below is a post from her:

Dear Friends and Family

We hope your Christmas and your New Year was wonderful.
Blue and I want to take time to thank you for your continuous prayers, for all of the notes, texts, cards, and gifts. We’re so thankful.
Your generosity is an immense help. Your prayers and well wishes keep us going and give us a boost to keep going, keep fighting and care for Kyle, Claire and each other.

Kyle has completed 10 rounds of radiation at MUSC. It was rough on him - even the strongest medicine we have doesn’t take his head aches completely away. They should ease of now that radiation is over. He had a blood draw and the numbers were good( PRASE THE LORD). Kyle is still in the medical trial in NYU. We will be heading to NY this Saturday for his appt. with Dr. Gardner. His next MRI isn’t scheduled yet.

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 NIV

Hi everyone! I wanted to pop in and give an update on Kyle, for Olga. Over the last few weeks things have been a little quiet as they waited for his most recent appt in NY.

A couple of weeks ago it was confirmed that the new spot seen on Kyle’s brain stem (that was found at the last MRI in November) is in fact a new tumor. It is small and at first they were not certain so they just kept an eye on it. After noticing some growth with it, it was confirmed to be a new tumor. This is what was causing his vision to be blurred again and headaches. This news, of course, is not what anyone wants to hear. So, over the last few weeks they had been patiently (and anxiously) waiting to hear what the game plan would be from this point. While waiting on drs to make decisions, Kyle was taking steroids again as well as continuing his treatments. Thankfully the steroids have helped his vision + headaches. We had been praying for a good game plan and that the Drs would bring some hope to the Glovers.

Over this past weekend they drove back to NY for a routine appointment and to hopefully find out what they would do from this point. Happy to say, Yesterday’s appointment went well. Kyles blood work all came back normal. With the exception of blood pressure being a little high and some weight gain, which is typical with steroids unfortunately. The plan from here is that Kyle will continue receiving treatment from the study in NY. (praise God! This is what we had hoped for) He will also be starting radiation again, after Christmas, to shrink the small new growth. They will be getting things set up with MUSC for that.

Overall the appointment went as well as we could have hoped! It is definitely answered prayers, as the last few weeks had been an anxious time for them as they waited to know what would be the next steps. I am so thankful they were able to get some answers, a game plan some more hope for Christmas. They are headed home from NY now and will be able to relax a little for Christmas before radiation starts.

Thank you for all of the continued prayers! As you can imagine they’ve been overwhelmed, and just trying to spend time together quietly as a family. It’s hard for them to get back to everyone, so If you want to leave messages or comments on here, Olga will see them! Please continue to pray for sweet Kyle. ❤️

11/17/19 update:

Hi friends, just wanted to give an update and ask for continued prayers for the Glovers this weekend. Late last night they took Kyle to MUSC for some clinical declines he was experiencing this week. It started with some vomiting early in the week and feeling nauseous, along with wobbly/dizziness (more than normal) and problems with his eyes. He is having double vision if he uses both eyes, so he’s having to close one eye to be able to see clearly. If you’ve been following along for the last 9 months, you may remember him having these same symptoms about 6/7 months ago. So, Blue and Olga took him to MUSC late last night.
They did two MRIs in the night. The tumor is still stable, but there is a new, small spot on his brain stem. His dr in NY knows about this spot and feels that it could be anything, so they are just planning to keep an eye on it and watch it for any growth etc. They are not certain what’s causing these symptoms again, with this type of cancer there is not a whole lot known, so it’s hard for them to give exact answers. BUT they are getting Kyle back on steroids for a while to, hopefully, help with his vision. They are getting him on meds for nausea and pain. They were assured that this will not affect his place in the NYU study. Drs told them they can see that the study treatments must be helping some, just based on the way his original tumor (which they operated on in January, removing a portion of it) looks. It looks to have not grown any and even looks *maybe* as if it’s slightly smaller. They are going to continue to watch the new spot and we are praying these symptoms will go away with the steroids and Kyle can be comfortable.

This has been a hard 24 hours for Kyle. He’s not a fan of being in the hospital and, just as anyone would feel, doesn’t want to be messed with, poked or prodded anymore. Please continue to prayer for peace and comfort for him this weekend. Praying for strength and peace for Blue and Olga as they continue to navigate through this unknown road to fight for their son. Praying for a weekend and Thanksgiving full of relaxation and no more hospital visits. ❤️

Kyle’s MRI went well today. There has been no change (which is good news!) Everything is still stable. They’ll be in NY for a few more days as he has his regular appt as well.
Thank you all for the continued prayers! ❤️
