Gilbert Estrada funeral fund
My name is Juan Estrada and on November 1st, my brother Gilbert Estrada passed away from a tragic accident he sustained while celebrating halloween at West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval. His costume went up in flames due to an accident and he suffered severe burns to his upper body including his face. He was transported to Cedar-Sinai on October 31st where the following morning he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. We are asking the community for help so we can provide a proper funeral and burial for him.
Gilbert was a caring and loving individual. He was a Son, Brother and Friend to all who got to know him well through his reserved and respectable personality. He loved his family and always tried to help them when times were difficult. He was very passionate about animals and volunteered at various animal shelters. His beloved dogs, Chiquita, Panchito and Papa were a huge part of his life and he adored them.
He also served as a volunteer for APLA, and was very dedicated in helping his community. The great outdoors was a second home to him and he was very concerned about our environment and protecting it for all future generations.
For those of us that were in his life, we will always remember him fondly through his warm and kind gestures. Gilbert will be truly missed by his family and friends.
I just want to take the moment to thank everyone who helped out my family, thank you.
I want to apologize for the very late response. Services for Gilbert have already passed and it was decided upon one of eldest brother to keep the services private with only a few in attendance, I had no part in his decision. Gilbert's remains lay resting in rose hills cemetary in the city of Whittier CA.
I want to thank everyone who took the time and energy to donate. This really means a lot to me and the rest of my family. Although we didn't meet our intended goal, we still managed to give him a proper funeral with the help of so many. Thank you.
Hi, my friend Johnny Medina was one of the men that was putting the fire out off this poor mans body... He was the guy with the grey goodie jacket n broken hand... We would like to attend to his services and pay respects to his family... Sorry for the loss :( sad to know the efforts did not save him.
Gilbert was an outstanding person. A simple morning phone call to find out if I drank my coffee, to inquire about my commute or even when he would show up with flowers he would always find a way to make my day. I will truly miss all his acts of kindness. His heart was Gold. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his Fam.
I regret not spending more time with my uncle Gilbert... He was a great man, very humble, down to earth type of guy. He didn't have a lot but he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it... Please continue to keep my uncle Golbert in your prayers and may god bless you all...
