Saving Our DACA Family

This is coming from the heart and as we can’t keep certain things secret anymore here it is... My family are all apart of the DACA community and they don’t have the privileges to live and make mistakes like everyone else. There’s so spring break trips or flying out of the country or visiting family back in Mexico because being in America is a one way trip no going back. Unless caught by ICE. My family is the closest thing I have. We always knew there was a possibility of deportation happening but like everyone else we think “this would never happen to us” my cousin is currently locked up and no one can visit him unless they are a citizen of the U.S. which is my mother and I and very few others in my family. Not his mother, sister, brother, tias, tíos.. the reason I am here is because as you know under these circumstances, families work under the table to provide and as of right now this case is looking to be more than we can pitch in for. We don’t want to lose the case and have him spend his life in a place he was born at but can’t necessarily call home. He was 3 when he came and America is all he knows. He is now 19, intelligent, funny, caring and giving. These are the most important years of his life. We want him to spend them with the family. We finally got a lawyer for the case after going through a few but getting a good lawyer who represents minorities in need is difficult because the cases are always hard. We have been through the denials and headaches of this and are now realizing we need more help than anyone can truly give. This is a scary time. Help my family as you would yours.
