Help send Young Professionals from District 5030 to the RI Young Leaders Summit in Seoul Korea!

Many of you may be aware that in 2014 Rotary International kicked off their Young Professionals (YP) Campaign after receiving an anonymous one million dollar grant for the purpose of reaching out to youth and involving them with Rotary.

This year there is a new program for the 2016 RI Seoul Convention – The Young Leaders Summit.  This is a great opportunity for 1,000 future young leaders to convene in one place to interact while developing a road map for the future by discussing both challenges and opportunities to serve the world as future Rotarians.

The 2016 Seoul Summit will feature
·         Leadership training and opportunities for young Rotarians across the world
·         Service opportunities and involvement in Seoul (TBA)
·         Networking with other Rotarians from across the globe

District Governor Terry Pickering has made it a goal to send 10+ District 5030 young leaders (19-35) to attend the Summit in Seoul this May, which is happening in conjunction with the RI Convention.

There is an opportunity to support YP’s from District 5030 go to the YLS and RICON 16.   Our fundraising goal is $10k. Members of our Seoul delegation have different financial needs but instead of opting to raise funds individually we decided it would be more fun to work as a team. If we raise $10k all of the members of our delegation will be able to attend, regardless of financial need. We can add new members to our delegation until March 25. Applications to attend the YLS are due March 31. Any funds raised in excess of our fundraising goal will be used for future Young Professional initiatives.

Additionally, after we get back from Seoul there will be a “show and tell” of what the YLS was like. So anyone who contributed, or is just interested in learning more can hear how everything turned out. Hopefully this will encourage more YP participation next year for the YLS in Atlanta, GA!

Thanks in advance to everyone willing to show support – whether you contribute to our fundraising effort or not. If you do chose to give, any amount will be most appreciated.  We are lucky to be a part of such a large, active, and passionate District and it truly is an amazing place to be a Young Professional.
