Naomi Wadling Terminal Cancer Fund

On behalf of my beautiful friend and her son Alfie I would like to share her story with you in order to raise money to provide them with much needed stability and security. They need your help as Naomi recently was told by her oncologist that she has a 2-5 year window to plan for in her terminal diagnosis. I sat with her in that appointment and words cannot describe the gravity or devastation of that moment. Please take a moment to read her story. Thank you x In February 2013 Naomi was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, at the time her son Alfie was 4 years old and their lives were forever changed. A secondary cancer diagnosis 2 years later meant it has spread to her bones, and she would need ongoing treatments to keep the cancer stable and live in hope that it would not spread any further. To date Naomi has had 30 rounds of chemo, 35 rounds of radiation, half her thyroid removed, ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed, her right breast removed then breast reconstruction surgery 4 years later. Naomi has been on hormone blocking treatments for almost 5 years and many other pain medications, anti depression meds and induced into early menopause to try and fight and cope with this horrible disease. Adding to that she has only been able to work for maybe 6 months out of the last 5 years as a result of her illness and subsequent treatments resulting in constant financial and emotional stress. Recently the cancer has spread and metastasised and 8 weeks ago she was given the heartbreaking news that the diagnosis is terminal with a 2-5 year window of time. Without time on her side and limited options, Naomi’s focus is on quality of life so she can be the best version of herself for her son and make the most of the time they have left. Naomi’s dream is to furnish Alfie with great memories, to travel with him and give him some fun times while she is still well enough and mobile. Alfie has not had an easy life, Naomi has been sick and battling as long as he can remember, he has not had a carefree childhood as every child deserves. Alfie has also endured the trauma of his dad being in a horrific car accident this year. Fortunately his dad survived but is wheel chair bound and has a series of operations ahead of him and his own set of challenges. I have set up this page as an option to those who would like to help make the rest of their journey a little kinder so Naomi can focus on the fight and making memories with her little boy.
