The Burchett Show Horse Family

Donation protected

Early this morning in Indiana our trainers Connie and Ray of Burchett Show Horses were involved in an accident while hauling horses to the 2015 Appaloosa World Show in Texas. While traveling down the interstate their trailer was rear ended by a car traveling at approx. 100 miles an hour. Thankfully by the grace of god, Connie and Ray are ok. Inside the trailer were 4 horses.  The horses were transported to a local Veterinary Clinic to be evaluated. The horse in the very back of the trailer where the impact occured was thrown out of the trailer and survived with alot of abrasions over 60% of it's body and 10 stitches. The next horse in was our beloved Lurch who  suffered severe lacerations to his left hind leg, and was transported to Perdue University Large Animal Hospital for evaluation which led to surgery. The last 2 horses; Bert and Buster thankfully escaped injury and will be ok.  The trailer is totaled and we are not sure about the condition of the truck.  The Appaloosa community has stepped up to provide a ride for the Burchetts and 3 of the horses to Fort Worth. Others will be helping them to get back home after Worlds. Right now there are many unexpected expenses for both Connie, Ray and the injured horses.  We all want to find a way to help and lessening the financial burden right now would be much appreciated.
