Hey guys!
Here we go! "4 Wheels to Alaska" is happening!
We are going to be cycling the crazy distance of 3,606KM (London to Paris x10!), all the way from Vancouver to Alaska with a target of raising money to fight violence against women and for gender equality! Our trip begins on the 1st of July 2018 and will take two months!
However for us, it's not just a really tough bike trip... We are honoured to be raising money for -Cowichan Women Against Violence- (CWAV) a local charity based on Vancouver Island which works to provide a supportive environment primarily to women and children who have been affected by abuse through counselling, advocacy, emergency shelter, community development and education.
And that’s not it, we are going to be raising awareness for the -HeForShe- movement. The campaign’s premise is that gender equality is not a women’s issue but an issue that affects everyone, and that achieving equality will benefit both women and men!
So this trip means a lot to us!
What, and Why?
-We are trying to raise a total of $6281.
Why this number?
-We are trying to raise $3606 for the charity. Why? Because of the 3606KM we will have to pedal across! (1KM= $1).
-To go to Alaska by bike we are putting lots of money in to this trip, but we will also need help to get some of the equipment, so a maximum of $2675 will go towards this.
-All profits will go to the charity.
Without you, it won't be possible, so thank you for following us and helping us to make this crazy idea real!
