Dream Trip: Studies in Bodh Gaya

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Susan Degnan. I'm currently a senior at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. (Transferred from Longwood University, where this would have been my senior year.)
I transferred into the religious studies program because religion has always been a passion of mine. I absolutely love learning about all kinds of different cultures and religions. In fact, I've been to just about every kind of temple or church or mosque I can find! :)

That being said, my main interest is in Buddhism. Two years ago, I took refuge vows for Tibetan Buddhism. I'd been through a really hard time with my life and my family, and the Buddhist community (my sangha <3) was just so incredibly warm and welcoming that I jumped right in. Since then, I transferred (obviously!), changed my major to religious studies, and have been a student of the "Dharma Path".

One of my professors at CNU told me about this program through Antioch University called "Buddhist Studies in India", which sounds absolutely incredible. It could be the trip of a lifetime for me. The schedule includes twice daily meditation, living with monks, and teachers. The link to the program is here --> http://www.antioch.edu/aea/programs/buddhist-studies-in-india/

The total cost for this trip is $23,000. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible, so I can potentially make this study abroad of a lifetime come true.

UPDATE: Thank you everyone so much for helping out. :) I felt that I should clarify that I have enough money to get there - thanks to everyone's kind donations and the enourmous generosity of my parents!  Any further donations are welcome, and will be directed towards research and research-based travel, which is a requirement of this program.
