As most of you know Ross Straight had a heart attack on Monday, October 7th while near the walking path at West Virginia Wesleyan. Thankfully a passer-by saw him and started CPR. They life-flighted him to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. While at the hospital there was a point where the doctors said there was nothing left to do. He had little to no brain activity and his heart was only working at 10%. We all knew it was the beginning of the end... until the stubborn man he is... fought back like a mad man. Things are looking up. He is what I consider a true miracle.
Unfortunately, this is an incredibly expensive hospital visit and I'm certain there will be more to come as they still need to repair the heart from what caused this episode in the first place.

He has NO INSURANCE!

As we all know he is a caring, fun-loving, talented person. With lots of caring friends. Please consider helping by donating to this fund in order to help raise some funds to off-set the cost of these mounting medical bills.

Update from Aunt Molly:
Well, Ross had his appointment with the cardiologist Dr. Gharib at the WVU Heart Institute. He offered three choices for dealing with the blockage: do nothing, do the stingray procedure, or open heart surgery. Ross chose the stingray procedure. They will be scheduling it for in two to four weeks. When the doctor first came in the room, he indicated Ross and exclaimed, "Well, it's the Legend!" He said for Ross to go ahead and start the cardio rehab at St. Joes because the stronger he is, the better the procedure will go.

Ross is doing so very well! We met with the rehab lady Friday after we saw the doctor. The doctor wants to know his number for how his heart is pumping now- what percent it is pumping- before he okays the rehab to start. Rehab will be on three days a week for three months when it starts.

Ross is walking down to get the mail, did laundry yesterday, raked leaves, put plastic over the doors, and more but takes frequent rests while working. He says that he is not overdoing it...
