Medical expenses for Richard Vachris

Richard and Chris Vachris are very unique people. After graduating from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY, Richard attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, graduated and became a true Texan. After he and Chris married he became a Houston Police Officer and while working, attended law school, graduated and practiced law for 34 years. Richard is unique because he did this in spite of the fact that at the age of 32 he was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease. Chris has given generously of herself as a teacher at St. Thomas More School in Houston for 25 years. They have successfully raised and educated two children. Angie is a lawyer like her dad and Timothy is a doctor.

Those of us who know them have seen them live their faith in God and each other every day. Things have become increasingly difficult. Two years ago Richard was forced to take early retirement and go on disability. Recently he sustained a broken hip and has been hospitalized. He will need additional equipment, therapy and assistance when he goes home. This presents us with an opportunity to help these extraordinary people who have inspired so many of us with their love and support for each other and for those in the community. Now is the time for us to show how much we care, as Chris faces mounting medical bills and extended time off from work. Please be generous and help these wonderful people.
