Military widow Of 2 Small Children

My name is Megan and last year my husband was murdered while active duty Army last year on September 24th 2016. I was six months pregnant. The military assured me that they were there to help, and helped me apply for the benefits my children and I were entitled to. I went through the remaining of my pregnancy and even birthed our son alone being as strong as possible. Here we are 15 months after my husbands death and I still have not recieved the benefits for my children. I take side jobs here and there to just try to make ends meet and I recently had a financial emergency situation when an undergound pipe burts at my house and i had to pay the plumber and the 400$ water bill. I have maybe 5$ to my name. I was hoping to give my kids a good Christmas, which is proving to be not an option, my gas is about to get turned off and I have nowhere to turn. I go to churches to get food boxes and once in a while a friend will help and buy me food with food stamps. I contemplated making this go fund me for so long because I hate to ask anyone for anything. However, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and I figured why not.
